Maddy and Rob

Tonight on the blog is Maddy and Rob’s Winchester Cathedral Refectory wedding. Everything from the weather to all the details were spot on, Maddy got ready in the conservatory of the most stunning town house. The glass ceiling made it perfect to get beautifully lit shots of her and her bridesmaid getting ready.

The ceremony was at Winchester Guildhall which is where I met Rob a short while before it began. After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests all walked to the Cathedral’s Refectory where a marquee was waiting in the garden for their reception. The garden is contained by the cities historic walls overlooked by the Cathedral itself.

After dinner and some heartfelt and hilarious speeches everyone moved into the Refectory restaurant for the party and danced the night away!

Thanks for having me guys! Hope you’re all doing really well!

Carla and Pete

Carla and Pete had a wonderful marquee wedding at Parley Manor, located in Chichester, it’s a stunning venue, close to Bournemouth and the New Forest. Their marquee there is very grand and opens out onto the very well kept gardens.

Carla and Pete had a very emotional ceremony, it was mainly Pete struggling to hold it together! This was followed by drinks in the gardens before heading into the marquee for dinner. The speeches were full of laughs and even a rap from the chief bridesmaid!

I had an awesome day capturing the action, thanks again guys for having me!

Jane and Mike

On the blog today is Jane and Mike’s awesome Winchester wedding! I really enjoy shooting weddings in Winchester, I grew up nearby so know the town really well and it’s full of venues steeped in character and history. The best bit is it is usually just a short walk between hotel, ceremony and reception and the journey from one place to another can make for some really great photos, getting a bit of street photography into the mix.

Jane and Mike wanted a very relaxed and simple day so got ready together at the Hotel Du Vin where we did a quick couple shoot before they enjoyed a glass of wine. Then it was a short walk to the cities registry office which is set inside the Great Hall, a very grand building which makes you feel like it’s hundreds of years in the past even as you walk around outside. Here they met with their friends and family who had come to help them celebrate.

After the ceremony all the guests walked with Jane and Mike to the reception at the Green Man Pub, again a really traditional building but it was made even more special by the styling and really tasty looking cake!

If you’re thinking of booking a Winchester wedding why not get in touch with me to discuss photographing your day…

Kerry and Aaron

Finally getting back to blogging with Kerry and Aaron’s wedding at East Horton Golf Club with their reception in it’s beautiful Greenside Barn. I had shot at East Horton a few times before but never been in the barn which really is great with its wooden beams and rustic feel.

It was a super chilled day at the twilight of the Summer, guests could spill out of the barn onto the patio and overlook the golf course as the sun set before everyone headed in for the party!

Thanks again guys for having me!

Kate and Matt

Kate and Matt had a beautiful, very DIY wedding at Warborne Farm in the New Forest, but no detail was spared a touch of pretty farmyard charm. The atmosphere of the day was very chilled, when I arrived I was greeted by guests swigging ale in the amazing on site accommodation and friends and relatives preparing flowers, laying tables and writing speeches.

The best bit for me was that the wedding was nearly entirely outdoors, aided by a beautiful setting and very cool, relaxed people. There was also the Flagon Wagon, provided by The Stable, a mobile cider and ale bar built into a vintage tanker truck, a very cool feature and something I am looking forward to seeing at more weddings in the future, it was hard not to pull myself a refreshing pint of the good stuff on offer from the likes of Unity Brewing Co and Meon Valley Cider.

Thanks to Kate & Matt for letting me be part of their special day, I had an awesome time photographing the wedding! If you are looking for a wedding photographer for your New Forest wedding please get in touch here.
